Capable People
Parents with real site experience – tradespeople, labourers, site support, tend to step back when the hours stop making sense. Not because the skill disappears. Because there’s no model that makes it work. Indigo Commercial changes that. We provide school-aligned site labour for commercial building and maintenance projects. Shifts that fit around families that the client doesn’t need to coordinate. Not every family has a village, but every family needs support.
With nearly 20 years in the building industry, including hands-on trade experience, I came to realise after becoming a parent that traditional site roles aren’t always compatible with raising a young family. For many women returning to the industry after having children, the default pathway tends to be office-based roles, which don’t suit everyone. At the same time, more men are seeking to be actively involved in their children’s lives. This model creates a practical way for both to stay connected to the industry while balancing family commitments.

A lot of experienced people have had to step back from site work because the hours just don't fit around life. The skill is still there. The drive is still there. The structure to support them wasn't.
Indigo Commercial is that structure. School-aligned shifts, commercial site work, and crews who know what they're doing. Built to work for builders and the people doing the work.
